Heaven's Spark Of Sunshine
"Sunny"
|
Sunny was retrieved from a home that would no longer
keep him. They had a new baby, and did not want a
"dirty dog" around the baby. He has been with me for
4 years now. He is 5 1/2 years old. He is a wonderful
dog, He is sharing my home with my other dogs, and
I would love to get him into a home where he is the only
dog. He is very demanding with his time, and needs to
be
with someone. I had him placed in a wonderful home
with a
14 year old boy. They had him for 4 months, but
with the
economy they unfortunately lost their home,
and he came
back to me. He is a very happy, go lucky
guy, with an
abundance of energy. He will play all
day long. I have
never seen him tire of retrieving. |

With all rescues, he has a sad story: As a puppy he
was taken
to a puppy park in the evenings. At the park, many of dogs picked
on him, so he is somewhat defensive
around intact male dogs. He runs
and plays with my females with no problem. I have done a great
deal
of Obedience
training with him, and he knows the basics: Come, Sit,
Down,
Stay. He is a very large
boy and weighs approx 95 pounds.
He is very strong, yet very
gentle. An experienced
and active family
would be the only options I would consider. He
is very good with
children
and people. I would not place him with a family with cats,
as
his chase instinct is too strong.
He will need a great deal of
exercise and will need a family
that would be devoted to him.
He is crate trained, housebroken, and very good in the home, but
he is a large boy, and will require space.
Ideally he would be a
great dog for a bachelor looking for a
good friend.
